I think I had a glitch and posted my comment somewhere else accidently, so redoing here: First, thanks for taking the time to document and share your design and buildout process, along with some of your thoughts a challenges that influenced your direction. Looks like it's going to be a ridiculously great home theater! I was curious to know where you sourced your rack ears for your madVR Envy MK1? I recently acquired one myself (LOVE IT) and want to rack mount it. I've only have found the rack ears for the HTPC case that the madVR Envy MK1 was built from on Amazon that have the handles on them, so wondering what rack ears you used for yours pls?

Excuse my ignorance but ain’t that not a subwoofer, isn’t it a mid range speaker, a subwoofer is for deep low notes or bass and these are more as a loud speaker no?

I would pop a Trinov or Marantz AV10 and set the speakers to consume LFE and directional bass.

Imagine lining a semi trailer with these and cranking it on a million watt amp....isis would be wiped out instantly.

i would love to hear a comparison between the original SDAs and the current model, the L800. i'm partial to the smaller multiple drivers when it comes to bass . the speed on the originals was astounding .

I am not a fan of placing atmos speakers in the ceiling. It limits the Atmos effect. I prefer front and back to get the full Atmos effect. If you ever seen the Dolby Atmos Render Model that engineers use, there is no Ceiling mounted speakers, just the entire room. Let your speaker breath, instead of limiting them to a confined space.

I'm not sure why you make this sort of comparison. I mean, the results are a given. We know ported versions of the same Sub will have higher output. The question then becomes if the sealed box is more accurate, tight, and musical. Ported versions are almost always preferred for movies.

Move subwoofers for comparison by sliding them around on cardboard (assuming you won't scratch the floor). The amount of change due to floor coupleing is minimal and the same for both.

Currently, I have a PC 2000 and in my new space the flooring is different at home and Front Forward Firing would be a much better experience. I am going to sound like a hater, but good grief, is there anything on this channel that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I love home theater tech as much as the next guy, but all these youtubers that have home theater channels just cater to the 1%.

I may have already commented. My apologies. Better low mids on the SVS. Way more clarity on vocals and precision in general on the Klipsch. Is it totally accurate? Probably not, but sounds great to me.

My sound system consists of 6 SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers (2 for the mains, 2 for the side channels, and 2 for the rears), an SVS Ultra Center speaker, 4 SVS Prime Elevation speakers ceiling mounted for Dolby Atmos and 2 SVS SB-3000 Subwoofers. The system is powered by a Parasound Halo A52+ 5 channel amplifier and a Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A 11 channel AVR with dual AC Infinity AIRCOM T9's keeping them cool, and all are connected to a Panamax M5400-PM Power Conditioner. The output power of this Living Room home theater system is 2,800 watts R.M.S.
